My logical interpretation of the movie: The first CT (care taker) possessed or started to possess Jack from the moment he walked into the room and the reason why you see Jack in the photo at the end is because you have been seeing the ghost all along. Jack himself actually looks different but because the way its directed, you (the audience) have the shiny. You are able to see and hear what others cant. This being said, instead of seeing jack who appeared to look complete from the face we see, we see the first CT as jack. Its good to note that Jack may have the Shining as well but may not be in tuned with the powers as good as his son Danny; this further explains why he was so easily possessed by the first CT as maybe the CT was whispering in his ears the whole time. Why jack of all people? most ghost stories/concept/movies base their possession on weak character. The first CT choose to posses jack because he struggles to put money on the take, has trust issues with his wife, and struggles to become a successful writer. Ultimately the only reason why I can see why Stanley Kubrick ended the shinning the way he did was solely due to the fact that the first CT can never die, and if he does, he will take it in a form of the next CT.

Be cooll if Jack made a cameo.

I'll give the movie a 8.5 out of 10 the ending for me is perfect cause by danny going back to the overlook and literally free all of his demon and put an end to it is perfect and not only he destroyed the overlook like his father did and being abra guide and guardian angel just like halaran its a bit dissapointing to see he died but i think it was a great end for his life almost his entire life is haubted by the overlook spirit and trauma and its definetly better than it chapter 2 and donr forget that rose say hi there alot.
